Approximately 35% of the rehab centers in the country offer inpatient services, either through hospitals or other residential facilities. However, only about ten percent of the total treatment population gets help through an inpatient rehab program.
Alcohol and other drug rehabilitation programs often consist of several phases, or steps. If an addict is unwilling, then the first step is some form of intervention. After that a detox of some type is needed and possibly a medically-supervised one depending on the amount and types of substances used. Then is the drug rehab program itself, which is completed with a discharge plan with goals in life as well as follow-up and support.
